Over on the “on life support” victims blog  for TJ Wachovia, John Hoff AKA Johnny Northside made an appearance. His reason for posting on the site was to (anti-johnny’s opinion) take low-life, cheap shots at Tom & Jon and to hopefully get their family’s to “hate” me.  Let me explain that last part.
About two months ago, John and I were engaging in a few less-than-friendly text messages and one of the last things John said was, “By the time I am done with you, his family will hate you.”
In other words, I have been such a thorn in John’s side by constantly keeping the public informed about what a hypocrite and possibly even a psychopath he is that he decided to attack my friends by sending them letters (in a federal prison camp-minimum security) as well as sending the prison letters. Below you will find what he said in that post:

“It appears that if somebody wanted to write to the parole board about “Tom and Jon,” this is the place to begin:

I’m guessing it would be best to reference them by their inmate numbers, since they’re just two pieces of well-chewed meat in a very big and impersonal machine.

About a week later I posted a comment that informed people that JohnWillard Hoff recently had a restraining order filed against him. I thought to myself at the time that his posting such a thing was a low-life thing to do but, it was also Coercion in my opinion. Some people see such a thing as Blackmail for a person to attack someone in order to get them to ask another person to do something they don’t want to do. That is illegal. Nothing new to John.

John posted a response that denied a restraining order ever existed, even though it was stamped by a Hennepin County clerk and it was signed by a Minnesota District 4 Judge.
Here is what John actually posted: (My comments are included in red font)

“Anybody can go to court and file something, but that doesn’t mean it ever took effect or was ruled justified. That’s the case here. The matter being referenced by Jim was never even SERVED. When you read thru the 8-page document, it states that a hearing is not required for it to be valid when the applicant convinces the judge that a restraining order is needed. Being served makes no difference.

And Jim knows that, but he’s not exactly committed to being truthful. Hmm, based on what? Any post about John Hoff that reveals factual information always includes a link to the source.

Jim’s friends sit in a federal prison and yet here’s Jim, their former business manager, the self-declared “best friend” of Thomas Balco, out in a very public way being a pain in the ass on their behalf up to, and including, sending harassing text messages at all hours of the night. Where to start? 1) I was never their “business manager” as he states. I managed about 35 rental properties of theirs in early 2003. 2) His saying I am being a “pain in the ass” goes to prove the reasons I stated for him sending letters and encouraging others to do the same. It is simply his below the belt tactics he so often uses against anyone he publicly attacks. 3) “Harassing text messages all hours of the night?” Thankfully, I saved those messages and of them all, this is the one that sounded as close to what garbage he claims is harassment… “Hey Magilla, how have you contributed to NoMi? Paid school taxes? City? County? EVER??? How about court fees? Or judgements? U R nothing but a social LEECH!”  Oh yeah, the latest time of day that any text was sent? 8:50 PM. The rest were before 6:00 PM.

I would urge anybody involved in this blog or victimized by the TJ Wachovia scandal who has been FURTHER victimized by Jim Watkins–such as receiving harassing text messages at all hours–to write to the prison system where his friends are staying. After all, Jim’s doing it because of them, and I can’t see how they can be innocent of that knowledge. Again, he attacks me by encouraging others to slander two people in jail. Nice guy. How he came up with implying I have sent text messages to anyone else on the matter is beyond me and as baseless as most everything else he writes.

Also, if anybody has a copy of a video I’ve heard about called “Jim’s Big Day,” if such a video actually exists…I am interested in obtaining a copy for documentation purposes. This statement is purely nuts. Would that be a video of the day I graduated high school? Or maybe a video from any number of speeches I have given to organizations throughout Texas? Please! It does make me wonder how he comes up with such garbage? Maybe he should switch to being purely an author of fiction.

Lastly, the reason I stated in the headline that Johnny Northside stooped even lower is because, I got a call from my friend about a week ago and he mentioned that he and Jon both got a letter from Johnny Northside. He didn’t read it to me but he did say something to this effect, “What is his problem?”
I think it is clear what his problem is… John Hoff has made it a career to step on others and publicly accuse people of whatever he wants, no matter if its true or not. Yet, he has the idea that the rules in this world do not apply to him. If he had any respect for the rules, he would have paid his property taxes (dating back to 2008),  his numerous judgements against him, his court fees every time he has been to court, his child support and the list goes on.
His other big probelm is… I will continue to be a thorn in his side. He has bullied so many people. Good people too. The day he decided to bully me and threaten to “crush” me… I decided that I will do what so few others have done when they have been bullied by John… Stand up to him and not let up until he stops his selfish, bullying ways and stops attacking people.

John Hoff has never bothered to pay attention to the old saying, “Those who live in glass houses, should not throw rocks.”


Ok, I admit John can’t officially be called an outlaw because, he has no criminal record that could be found BUT…
A recent article published by the MplsMirror (www.mplsmirror.com) goes into detail about many of John’s antics that are simply illegal. Here are just some examples of what John Hoff AKA Johnny Northside has or has not done that should make Don Samuels and R.T. Rybak take note and wonder if it is really a good idea to have John’s name attached to theirs. Rybak is running for Govenor of Minnesota and having a friend on his Facebook page that recently had a restraining order placed against him… Well it’s not the best political move in the world.

Please receive this formal written complaint herby provided to both the Truth In Sale of Housing and Rental Licenses Divisions for the Inspection Department with the City of Minneapolis. This notice for 2718 Newton Ave N in Minneapolis was hand delivered on Wednesday April 21st 2010.
It is being brought to your attention that the property located at 2718 Newton Ave N is not an owner occupied property.  The property is and has been illegally operating as a rental property since December 2nd of 2009. 
This property currently requires a rental license.

This property secured a Truth In Sale of Housing (T.I.S.H.) disclosure report  () on 7-17-09.  The Hennepin County Recorder’s office shows the property transferred ownership on 12-2-09.  There is not a Certificate of Responsibility signed by the new buyer available for public viewing on the City of Minneapolis Property information web site.  There are Required Repairs listed on the Truth in Sale of Housing Report that are still unresolved as of the date of this letter which is well past the due date of March 2nd 2010. 

This property was purchased in 2002 and for $142,000 and went into foreclosure in December of 2008 after being refinanced for $161,000.  A short period of time passed after the increase to the mortgage when the lender, Wilmington Finance, placed the property into foreclosure.  On 7-17-09 Realtor Troy Sanders, specializing in foreclosures and bank owned repossessed property, ordered a Truth In Sale of Housing disclosure report.  On December 2, 2009 the property was purchased by out of state investors residing in the state of Virginia.  These investors also make their homestead in the State of Virginia as well.  The out of state investor has not only ignored the acceptance of responsibility acknowledgement required per City of Minneapolis ordinance, they have failed to make any of the required repairs within the 90 day time frame required.
The property, in accordance with current City of Minneapolis Ordinances, shall require the following: 

1.    A conversion fee of $1000.00.        

Fee for Conversions to Rental PropertyWhen a dwelling is converted to rental property (or has not had a license for the last 12 months) it must be inspected for compliance with minimum housing standards. The fee for this required inspection is $1000.00. This fee is in addition to the annual license fee.



 2.   Annual License Fee of $65.00 plus 10% late fee.  Total $71.50.




The annual license fee for a rental dwelling license or provisional license is $65.00 for the first rental dwelling unit and $19.00 for each additional rental dwelling unit under common ownership in the same building. (Plus a 10% late fee)

 3.    New Owner $250.00 Administrative Fee for no license within 60 days of closing.





New Owners of Rental PropertyThe license fee is reduced by 50% for new owners who purchase their property after April 1.
A rental licenses must be obtained prior to renting or offering to rent the property.
New owners have 60 days within the closing date to apply for a license or a $250.00 + $20.00 for each additional unit administrative fee will be charged.



4.    Fine for Operating a Rental without a License $500.00 instant Citation.





If an owner is issued a violation for operating a rental without a license, the owner is subject to an administrative fine of $500.00. This fee is in additional to any other appropriate enforcement action or fee due.

5.    Not Posting 311 Poster fine $200.00





Fine for Not Posting 311 PosterLandlords who do not post a 311 poster in a common area of their building or within each rental unit if there is no common area are subject to a $200.00 administrative fine.

We in the community are working hard to Keep an eye on outside investors, especially from areas outside of the immediate 16 county metro area (must have a professional management company with a holder of a current realtor’s license) from ignoring their responsibility to maintain their property to “minimum standards”.

for your convenience. Please note that there are 54 items (in addition to the Immediate 5 Required Repair categories listed in the report) in the Truth in Sale of Housing Disclosure marked “B” for Below Minimum Standards and “C” or “SC” for comments and suggested corrections.  These 54 substandard items listed on the T.I.S.H. report that would likely be covered by your Conversion Inspection of the rental property. Some of these items include cracks in basement floors, cracks in walls missing Carbon Detectors and Smoke alarms and even rodent droppings are present in the property just to name a few.The inspection must be made as noted in the following ordinance for this rental property:

244.130.  Inspections required; powers.. 
Pursuant to provisions of this Code of Ordinances, as set forth herein, the director of inspections shall make inspections to determine the condition of dwellings, dwelling units, shared bath dwellings, shared bath units, rooming units, sleeping rooms, hotel units, and premises located within the city for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the housing maintenance code. The director of inspections, or designated representative, may enter, examine and survey at all reasonable times all dwellings, dwelling units, rooming units, hotel units, lodging units, lodging establishments, and premises after obtaining consent from an occupant of the premises. In the event that an occupant of the premises does not consent to entry by the director of inspections or designated representative, and if there is probable cause to believe that an inspection is warranted, then application may be made to the court for an administrative or other search warrant for the purpose of inspecting the premises. No person shall refuse entrance or impede the commissioner of health, director of inspections, chief of the fire department, or the chief of police, or designated representative, in the performance of emergency duties and in case of emergency every such inspector or officer shall have the right to enter, examine and survey all premises, grounds, erections, structures, dwellings and buildings and every part thereof in the city at all times. (Code 1960, As Amend., § 67.020; Pet. No. 252271, § 10, 5-11-90; 97-Or-056, § 1, 6-27-97; 2006-Or-073, § 3, 6-30-06)



It should also be noted that the property appears to have a number or points, totaled from the Certified T.I.S.H. inspector’s report, far in excess of the amount of points allowed to meet the minimum standards acceptable in Minneapolis.  The points allowable for a single family dwelling is 25.  The T.I.S.H report shows there are many times the required points require for immediate issuance of a Letter of Intent to Condemn (L.I.N.T.) the property.  That being said the property should immediately receive a immediate Letter of Intent to Condemn.


This letter shall serve as your Notice for the Nuisance conditions and rental license violations as well as TISH violations related to the both the property and the owner of the property.

The City Settled Again for HOW MUCH??

The City of Minneapolis held a big press conference to announce a civil suit by going after TJ Waconia and then announce that they won! They told the public that they gained control of TJ Waconia’s properties but… OOPS! TJ Waconia no longer owned those properties. SunTrust Mortgage owned them and the city failed to notify them of their lawsuit that they claim to have won. OOPS!
Enter SunTrust Mortgage.
Judge rules in favor of SunTrust but, the city didn’t bother to tell the public. Why should they? They didn’t bother to tell SunTrust about the lawsuit.
Finally, the city settles with SunTrust. The city buys a bunch of properties owned by SunTrust at a whopping 10% discount!
So… The city screws up. The city ends up buying SunTrusts’ bad debt and neglects to tell the public!

Oooh! This hurts all the way around!

The Minneapolis City Council had their case against TJ Waconia dismissed but, it sure cost the tax-payers… A LOT!
HOW much did that lawsuit and settlement (yes, settlement) cost the citizens of Minneapolis? We are still adding up all the “sale prices” the city paid SunTrust Mortgage in the wake of the TJ Waconia fiasco.
Looks like Don Samuels, Barbara Johnson and Mayor R.T. Rybak will have the voters to answer to this time! As R.T. said last year at the press conference that announced the city’s suit against TJ Waconia (that was DISMISSED), “This time its personal.”

You bet it is!

Now… HOW MUCH did the city pay SunTrust Mortgage to settle???

Johnny Northside posted a parody that showed a picture of Mayoral candidate, Al Flowers with a large smoking object hanging on his lips. I assume it is meant to be a marijuana cigarette but, Johnny stopped short of saying that.
Since John Hoff is known to be a hypocrite with so many things, such as his pen name “Hoffman” that is in homage to Abbie Hoffman of the Chicago 7 and a well-known cocaine addict. When I saw he posted the picture of Al Flowers smoking pot (and John claims his blog is fair while he rips the reputations of people running for public office against his new found political buddies), I decided to mirror the parody by offering a picture of John engaging with a “crack ho” as he likes to call them.
For anyone who might take offense to the picture… It is a P-A-R-O-D-Y so, Enjoy.

Just my $0.02 cents but, I am guessing that the reason she was driving so slowly was because, she knew the police had been called and wanted to make sure they were able to find her before they got on the highway.
The entire scene had been carefully planned before Lennie Chism showed up and it would appear that she intended to have him arrested.
